Next
year we look forward to offering a larger selection of simangus bulls. We decided to breed the heifers to simmental for several
reasons. First, it is our core policy that crossbreeding is necessary and vital to the sustainability of long
term profits to the beef industry and to you are customers. By developing composite bulls that are moderate framed,
average milking ability, above average in marbling, and efficient, we are confident it will add to your bottom line in reducing
your cost per pound weaned, improve reproduction, and longevity of your cow herd.
We selected simmental as they rank first in calving ease, marbling, and weaning weight among the continental breeds.
Within the breed, we selected for individuals that were average to below average milk, above average marbling, and all
of this in a frame score 6.0 or lower. When I visited Tim Ishee; Ishee Simmentals in Mississippi in May 2008,
that was my criteria and we chose two great herd sires that have made there home on the ranch; Mr Ishee Hummer 726 a purebred
and Ishee Black Moon 720 a 1/2 blood out of the RAB-EGL Blue Moon Angus bull.

Black Moon 720 ranks in the top 2% of simangus bulls for birthweight, top 20% for yearling weight, and get this top 1% for
API and top 1% for TI. Wow that is impressive. The bull studs missed their opportunity on this bull. I feel
like I got the deal of the century on this bull. Can't wait to see his first offspring in March 2009.
To sum
it up, we feel we have selected cattle that will compliment your angus based females, that will add more lbs/cow exposed,
without increasing dystocia or maintenaence costs of your cow herd.
